- (Q1.)Who can register on TRACES?
- Deductors, Tax Payers and PAO (Pay and Accounts Officer) can register on TRACES.
- Yes, Deductor can register on Traces who’s Authorized Person is a Foreign National.
- Yes, separate category is available for Deductor whose Authorized Person is a Foreign National at the time of Registration on Website.
- Jurisdictional Assessing Officer approval is required to register on TRACES if Authorized Person PAN is not available in case of Foreign National.
- Date of birth of authorized person, Name of authorized person, Father's name of authorized Person and designation of authorized Person is mandatory and must be entered by deductor whose Authorized Person is a Foreign National.
- After successful registration of 'Deductor' whose 'Authorized Person is a Foreign National' can update Authorized Person Details in Profile Section as mentioned below:
a) Name of Authorized Person.
b) Father's Name of Authorized Person.
c) Date of Birth of Authorized Person.
d) Designation of Authorized Person. - If TAN category doesn't falls under "Deductor whose Authorized Person is a Foreign National then below mentioned error will appear:
As per our records your TAN category not comes under 'Deductor whose Authorized person is a Foreign National'. Kindly contact your Jurisdictional Assessing Officer. - Deductor can write PANNOTAVBL or PANAPPLIED in PAN of Authorized Column whose Authorized Person is a Foreign National.
- Yes, Deductor’s functionalities will remain same where Authorized Person is a Foreign National except DSC related functionalities, till the Digital Signature and PAN of Authorized not updated in profile.
