(Q1.) There is a new link available on TRACES website "Registration on E-Filing site" after login. What is it for and how is it useful? - "Registration on E-Filing site" is a functionality to facilitate the Tax Deductor and Collector to register at e-Filing website i.e., www.incometax.gov.in. This will help Deductor / Collector to avail the following functionalities:
- 1. Uploading Online Original e-TDS/TCS Statements.
- 3. Uploading 15G/15H etc and view the same
(Q2.) Can I upload e-TDS return at NSDL?
- No, online upload of e-TDS/TCS return has been discontinued from https://tinpan.proteantech.in/ from 1st May'2016 onwards.
(Q3.) Is it necessary to register TAN on E-filing for filing e-TDS/TCS return(s)?
- Yes, It is necessary to register TAN at e-filing website through link available at TRACES website i.e., "Register at E-Filing site" after log in as a Deductor.
Note: - If Deductor doesn't want to upload return online at E-Filing website then Deductor can submit return at TIN-FC. (Q4.) I am not registered as a Deductor at TRACES website, will I be able to register at E-filing website through link "Register at E-Filing site"?
- If TDS/TCS return is not filed, Deductor will be redirected to E-filing website through link available on TRACES (at the time of registration on TRACES).
(Q5.) I am trying to upload original e-TDS/TCS statement for the first time on E-Filing but I am NOT registered at TRACES yet. What should I do?
- It is not mandatory to register on TRACES website for uploading e-TDS/TCS statement first time at E-Filing. TRACES routes Deductor to E-Filing website, once Deductor enters TAN and after entering "PAN of authorized person and PAN of Deductor", Deductor gets routed to E-filing and after successful registration at E-Filing, return can be uploaded.
(Q6.) What is the procedure to Register on E-Filing website through TRACES? What is the procedure to Register on E-Filing website through TRACES?
- To register at E-Filing website through TRACES, Deductor/ Collector has to follow the below steps:
1. TRACES registered User has to log-in to TRACES website.
2. In 'Quick Links' section under 'Dashboard' tab, user will get option- "Register at e-filing site".
3. User will be redirected to Income Tax e-filing site i.e., www.incometax.gov.in for registration.
4. User will complete the registration procedure at www.incometax.gov.in
5. User can click on the 'Register at e-filing' only once in the same session.
Following message will be displayed if user clicks again on the link: Already redirected on e-filing site. Log out and login again to use 'Register at e-filing' link.
6. If Deductor is already registered at e-filing site, the Deductor will not be allowed to use link of 'Register at e-filing'. Following message will be displayed if user tries to click on 'Register at e-filing'.: "Already registered on e-filing site. Kindly contact ITR-CPC for any help."
(Q7.) Do I have to always login at TRACES to access e-filing website to file E-TDS/TCS statements?
- No, once you have successfully completed the registration on E-filing website, you can directly login at E-filing website.
(Q8.) When I click on the link "Register at E'Filing site", I am not getting redirected to E-filing website?
- Please disable pop - up blocker in your browser in order to get redirected to e-filing website from TRACES.
(Q9.) Is Digital Signature mandatory to register at E-Filing website through new link available at TRACES?
- No
(Q10.) Is Digital signature required to upload online e-TDS/TCS statement (s) at E-Filing website?
- Deductor can upload return at E-filing with the help of Aadhaar OTP as well. DSC registration is not mandatory.
(Q11.) Is any Fee chargeable to file e-TDS/TCS statement(s) on E-filing site or is it free?
- No fee will be charged to file e-TDS/TCS statement(s) on E-filing Site.
