- Addition of Challan to statement (C9 correction) can be done using "Online Correction Functionality" available on TRACES.
(Q2.)What is the procedure to Add challan to the statement?
- Step1: Select the Correction Category "Add challan."
Step2: OLTAS window will open and show all Challans which have Available Balance and which are within the range of +1/-1 Financial year.
Step 3: Add the relevant challan and save it.
Step 4: Submit the correction for processing. (Q3.) Can I add partially consumed Challan?
- Yes, partially consumed challan can be added to the statement.
(Q4.)Can I edit Challan details after adding it?
- Yes, challan details can be edited.
(Q5.)What if Challan is not reflecting while doing "Add Challan to the Statement"?
- Please check the CIN details (BSR Code/Date of Deposit/Challan Serial Number and Challan Amount) of the challan you are looking for. Please note that only those Challans which have Available Balance and which are within the range of +1/-1 financial year will reflect under "Add Challan to the Statement" option.
(Q6.)If I have paid a Challan in wrong TAN, Will I be able to do tag this challan to the correct TAN using Online Correction Functionality?
- No. In this case, TAN correction is required, which can be done through Jurisdictional Assessing Officer. Once the correction is done by Jurisdictional Assessing Officer, then only challan will be available for addition.
(Q7.)Can I add a Challan which is paid in wrong Financial Year?
- If the challan is in the range of +1/-1 F.Y., it will be available for addition in statement. If challan is not within the range of +1/-1 F.Y., then deductor needs to contact Jurisdictional Assessing Officer for the challan correction.
(Q8.)Can I add a Challan on the same day when it is paid?
- Once the challan is updated in OLTAS, only then, it can be added to the already filed statement. (Please wait for 2 to 3 days after payment of challan to get the same updated on OLTAS)
(Q9.)Can I close Late Filing or Interest related default(s) through "Add challan to statement option"?
- Yes,Late Filing and Interest related default(s) can be closed through "Add challan to statement" option.
